K-M-A-S Radio - First Full Run Through

On Wednesday November 24th, the Classic Players had their first complete run through of K-M-A-S Radio.  The rehearsal went from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm!

The rehearsal began by listening to the lovely Children's Choir sing a few numbers.  My favorite was the song I Hate Misteltoe!  We all started cracking up, including some of the girls that were singing the song!  The kids then practiced walking off stage, getting their props, and coming back on stage for the Young Thesbians play.

This little performance explained what a Christmas tree means, why we decorate a Christmas Tree, and what the decorations mean.  It was a very sweet little play!

After that, the Concert Choral sang their pieces.  My favorite song that we are singing this year is a Ukranian Folk Tune called Sleigh Bells.  If I can, I will try to post a video on here after the performance.

Finally, it was time for the Classic Players to work on K-M-A-S Radio.  Our run through was rocky at best, but I am sure it will come together.  It was the first time that no body had a script on stage.  Some people were thrown off by different scene changes, which we had'nt rehearsed before.  This was also the first time that I had rehearsed in my costume.  It is just a little bit tight, so I rehearsed in it yesterday to make sure I didn't need to find a different costume.  One other aspect that threw me off a bit was my ankle.  I have weak ankles, and consequently they get injured a lot.  I recently injured my ankle in the last play I was in (The Velveteen Rabbit) and I am still wearing the brace.  In K-M-A-S Radio, I have several scenes where I have to exit quickly, by running.  This caused my ankle to hurt more.  I am going to make sure I rest my ankle this weekend so I will be all set for our dress rehearsal on Monday!

We are counting down the days untill the perforamnce!  Current count, 5 more days!!!
